Rugby stars open St Helens branch

Players from St Helens RFC have opened a new branch of Enterprise Credit Union in the town.
Saints stars Dominique Peyroux and Joe Greenwood cut the ribbon in front of a crowd of enthusiastic members and invited guests. Visitors then had the chance to be shown around the high street branch following its £250,000 redevelopment.
Enterprise Credit Union Chair Muriel McCreadie said: “We’ve wanted to open a branch in St Helens for a while now, as we have a strong member base in the surrounding areas. When the opportunity to buy a property on the high street came up, we took it immediately.
“Now, after months of redevelopment, we can finally open our doors, and who better to cut the ribbon than players from Saints.”
The credit union decided to open a branch in St Helens after many local residents called for them to have a physical presence in the town.
Enterprise Credit Union Chief Executive Karen Bennett said: “The people of St Helens look out for one another, and a strong community really matters to them, so it’s the perfect place to bring our credit union.
“Existing members in St Helens will now have the newfound convenience of a local branch, and people looking to join will be able to do so simply and easily.
“More and more people are waking up to the benefits of joining a credit union. I’m hugely excited to grow our base in St Helens.”
Enterprise Credit Union has been operating for over 25 years, and serves anyone who lives or works in Knowsley, Liverpool or St Helens.
