Full house of Forum meetings

Every ABCUL Forum across Britain is meeting this quarter, as the local meetings go from strength to strength.
ABCUL organises 11 Forums across Britain; one for Scotland, one for Wales, and nine regional Forums across England. All credit unions affiliated to ABCUL can attend their local Forum meetings, and some credit unions that serve members in different parts of the country choose to affiliate to more than one.
Last year, it had become evident from member feedback that some Forums were not functioning as well as expected due to pressures on time and resources faced by the volunteers tasked with running them.
So it was decided that ABCUL would offer support with the organisation and running of Forum meetings wherever requested to ensure all member credit unions could benefit from high quality quarterly meetings and events with their peers.
The results have been hugely encouraging, with all Forums establishing a regular pattern of meetings, big increases in attendance and some great feedback from delegates.
ABCUL Head of Member Services Rosanna Donovan said: “Forums are the place for ABCUL credit unions to meet, learn and share, so we’re determined that they should add real value for our members in every part of the country.
“It’s great to see renewed enthusiasm from the volunteers who’ve given so much to running their Forums over the years, and it’s wonderful that so many credit unions who hadn’t attended for whatever reason are now coming back to their local Forum meetings.”
Every credit union in Britain can attend their local ABCUL Forum meeting when they join the Association. Full details of Forum meetings can be found here.
