ABCUL launches eXpresso sessions

ABCUL has had a great response to its new eXpresso sessions for members.

These new lunchtime webinars are designed to bring ABCUL’s comprehensive information guides to life in small bite-size chunks, meaning members can now keep abreast of the latest regulation and procedure updates online at the comfort of their own desk over a cup of coffee.

Each session is focused on one core topic and runs for a maximum of 30 minutes. As an interactive session, it is fully flexible and designed to meet the needs of credit union staff, directors and volunteers.

ABCUL Head of Member Services Rosanna Donovan said: “We've launched this new service in response to feedback in our recent Credit Union Survey which showed many members would appreciate this sort of ‘face to face’ run-through of compliance and policy issues and the chance to ask questions.

“We know members value ABCUL’s regularly updated library of briefings and information guides, so our eXpresso sessions are designed to bring those information guides to life and to highlight and clarify all the key points for members.”

The first eXpresso sessions have covered Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) disclosure, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) complaints process and the reform of credit union rules.

Each session has had excellent feedback from participants.

A member tuning into the FSCS disclosure session said: “Did exactly what it said on the tin! Short and informative. Will make use of these sessions again.”

A member on the FCA complaints process session said: “Great session; quick, straight to the point and easy to follow.”

And one participant in the session on the reform of credit union rules said: “Found this session extremely useful. Highlighted key areas of regulation reform without the confusing jargon.”

A new round of ABCUL eXpresso sessions will be organised shortly. Every credit union in Britain can access ABCUL’s information guides and eXpresso sessions when they join the Association.
