“Credit unions achieving more together”

The 2015/16 ABCUL Annual Report has been published, highlighting how credit unions achieve more together through the Association.
The report was launched at the ABCUL Annual Conference in Manchester, and with the Credit Union League of Great Britain being founded in October 1967 - going on to adopt the ABCUL name in 1984 - this report celebrates 50 years of credit unions achieving more together; recognising that credit unions achieve more when they co-operate and work together in a strong trade association.
The Annual Report includes a review of all ABCUL’s member services and public affairs activity over the last financial year, as well as reports on the activity of ABCUL’s trading subsidiary Cornerstone Mutual Services and the movement’s charity, the Credit Union Foundation.
Writing in the report’s foreword, ABCUL President Robert Kelly said: “ABCUL is its members; formed in 1967 by credit unions who recognised that by working together in a strong trade association, the British credit union movement can punch above its weight and achieve so much more for credit unions – and the people they serve – than we ever could working in isolation, and that's something that has never changed.
“In ABCUL's 50th year, we look forward to continuing the journey to a growing, thriving British credit union movement with all our members, partners and supporters.”
