Staff and directors from Commsave Credit Union have run 5km to raise cash for a local hospice.
14 runners from the staff and board of the communications industry credit union braved a chilly Saturday morning to take part in Cynthia Spencer Hospice’s 5km Colour Run in Northampton.
Cynthia Spencer Hospice provides specialist palliative care for people diagnosed with life-limiting illnesses and their families at the Hospice in Northampton and across South Northamptonshire through their Hospice@Home Community Care Team, helping patients to enjoy the best quality of life possible.
As well as having fun – and getting covered in paint! – the Commsave team raised over £300 for this great cause.
Commsave Credit Union Treasurer Richard Munro was one of the runners, and he said: “I’m really proud that the staff and board of Commsave have supported this local charity. Most families have at some point had experience of the services a hospice provides for their loved ones, and it’s an important part of the credit union ethos that we do our bit to support organisations that are making a positive difference in our communities. Cynthia Spencer Hospice does some really excellent work, and we’re delighted to be able to support them.”
Commsave Credit Union serves more than 20,000 members who work in the communications industry across Britain and are saving £34 million and borrowing £31 million from their credit union. Commsave has assets worth more than £41 million, and last year paid a highly competitive 2.25% dividend to savers.
The credit union has already exceeded its fundraising target, but donations can still be made via their JustGiving page here.
