Cornerstone Conference looks ahead
23 Jun 17
The first Cornerstone Mutual Services Annual Conference has looked ahead to continued innovation through co-operation.
The event at Manchester’s Midland Hotel brought together delegates from credit unions across Britain to learn more about Cornerstone’s products, to ask questions and to hear expert speakers address some of the key issues facing the credit union sector.
Cornerstone Mutual Services is ABCUL’s trading subsidiary, which was set up to help credit unions grow through co-operation and innovation; working together to make credit unions stronger and to deliver improved products and services for members.
The conference was facilitated by the leading global credit union innovator Mark Sievewright and received a business update from Cornerstone Mutual Services Chair Lord Hunt of Wirral and ABCUL Chief Executive Mark Lyonette. Delegates then heard more about the plans for the rollout of the Cornerstone Model CU and learning from the first migrations to the new platform, including input from Fiserv, the Department for Work and Pensions, credit unions that are using the Model CU and those who are preparing to make the most of the new technology to build their businesses.
The conference also featured a session on improving Cornerstone’s ALD (Automated Lending Decision) service, with a presentation from Lloyds Banking Group’s Johanne Smith on improving credit scoring analytics and a discussion of risk based loan pricing.
Delegates heard more about Cornerstone’s new card product from The Change Account CEO Ian Hossack, and there was a focus on responding to changing consumer expectations and keeping pace with technological change, including a session with Lloyds Banking Group’s James Ball on driving demand and tracking progress to fulfilment through strong digital channels.
