Two ABCUL members have met with Halifax bank managers from Lancashire Central and East to discuss a partnership to provide ethical savings accounts and affordable loans to Halifax customers who aren’t able to meet the bank’s lending criteria.
Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre Credit Union and Pennine Community Credit Union highlighted how both organisations function and the different ways in which credit unions and local banks can work together.
Kathryn Fogg, CEO of Pennine Community Credit Union, said: “PCCU was pleased to be invited to make a presentation to the Halifax bank managers, who were engaging and interested with the services that the credit union could provide. At PCCU we have already benefitted from referrals from the local Halifax Bank and look forward to helping more people from the community.”
