Nicola Sturgeon notes she is a massive supporter of credit unions

The comment was prompted by a question from Pauline McNeill MSP, who was keen to know what actions the Scottish Government would be taking to assist families faced with financial hardship following the interest rate rise.

In response, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon noted that "There is a big area of consensus here. I agree with the thrust of Pauline McNeill’s question. The First Minister's comments following commitments made in the Scottish Goverment's Programme for Government, to continue to back credit unions, including through an awareness raising campaign.
