About Credit Unions
» Scottish Friendly

ABCUL and Scottish Friendly have teamed up to increase the variety of products which are available from ABCUL credit unions.

Like credit unions, Scottish Friendly is a mutual organisation which exists for the benefit of its members and not external shareholders. It has roots stretching back to 1862 and manages funds of over £520 million.

Credit Union Members who apply for the Scottish Friendly Child Trust Fund or Bonus ISA will only be contacted about the policy and will not be contacted for any other marketing purposes. Scottish Friendly does not offer any financial advice.

Stakeholder Child Trust Fund

Some credit unions already offer their own cash Child Trust Funds. To encourage members to make use of their voucher - and give them more choice about where to invest it - ABCUL has teamed up with Scottish Friendly to provide credit union members with information on the mutual's Stakeholder Child Trust Fund. Scottish Friendly has been helping families to save for over 140 years and the Stakeholder CTF is invested in their Managed Growth Fund.

Members of ABCUL credit unions can find out more or request a postal information pack by picking up a leaflet at their credit union, via their credit union's website or by clicking on the picture below.

Bonus ISA

Credit unions offer a range of easy savings products for their members and, thanks to the partnership with Scottish Friendly, this range has now been increased. Scottish Friendly's Bonus ISA is a tax- free savings plan that is invested in their ISA With Profits Fund, which invests in stocks and shares, fixed interest funds and cash. Regular additional contributions can be made direct through your bank or by cheque, or your credit union can help you to make regular payments.

Visit your credit union or click on the picture below for more information or to request an information pack to be sent to you by post.
